SAINT KITTS & NEVIS - COUNTRY AND PEOPLE

Saint Kitts and Nevis is a Two-Island-State which is located between Montserrat in the southeast and St. Eustatius (Dutch Antilles) in the northwest. Wonderful beaches, good hotels and restaurants (not even cheap), high mountains up to 1000m, and some nice places of interest like "Brimstone Hill", the biggest fortress of the Caribbean and good snorkelling and diving sites are worth at least a side trip to St. Kitts and Nevis.
We, that means Ben, V47BY (DL7BY) our XYLs Margitta and Erika and me, Gerd, V47GU (DL7VOG) - had the "luck" to meet hurricane "Lenny", which stood with us for four days. The  Airport closed two hours before our flight to Montserrat. So we had to stay involuntary another four days.
No electricity, no water - just storm and rain, rain, rain ... at a time, the "normal" hurricane season was already over !
And the worst: NOT a single QSO during this time !!!
Of course we also have lots of good memories. Our friends Karl (V44NK), Lawson (V44KO), Henry "Kilo Whisky" (V44KW) and Terry (V44KBP) made our vacation an unforgettable experience.
